What version of amazing charts do you have? If you have version 5, it doesn't matter if it says active or inactive, it will still work. If you have any other questions, feel free to call us at 866-382-5932

E-prescribing does in fact work in version 5. I'm not sure why you were told other wise. Unless you are below a provider level or do not have your code to activate it, you can send your prescriptions electronically. I would be glad to log in with you to get you going with this if you would like. You can e-mail me at Joe@amazingcharts.com.

We have been told that the new Version 5.024 (issued 2/8/10) fixes eprescribing . . . fingers crossed.

Check my post about 5.0.24 update

But please see my correction. It is much more stable than I initially stated.

Has anyone else tried eprescribing with the 5.0.24 - it works which it didnt before for me but now I have noticed that it doesnt save the pharmacy you send it to to send it to the same one the next time- even when the box "save selected as patients preferred pharmacy" also tried to save preferred pharmacy in demographics- it worked but didnt load into pharmacy area for eprescribing either- anyone else notice this or know a way to correct this?

thanks tim

I see the same thing in my system. Guess it's another bug.

any one else- for those of you eprescribing do you just have to look up the pharmacy every time you prescribe? that just seems really annoying I just assume give paper scripts-

After the first time, it default saves the pharmacy as the patient's preferred one. You can always go back and find another.

I have a question about eRx. For some reason, any time I send a schedule IV or V to a certain pharmacy, they call to "verify" since they say controlled drugs cant be e prescribed. It is my understanding, that the only one that can't be e prescribed is II's. Does anyone have a clear answer to this question?

Thanks

By federal law you cannot currently send any scheduled drugs by e prescribing. That includes even Schedule V. The DEA is holding hearings and is in public comment phase on this and who knows how long that will take.

Unfortunately Sure Scrips or NewCrop has no way of just knowing this and telling you that you must fax...seems like they should. When they call to verify, what they are really doing is getting a "verbal scrip" called in and documenting it that way.

I live in a small town - when I do it my pharmacist (who is also my neighbor) calls and gives me a bad time....helps you learn.
The ironic part is that not all pharmacies call - and that the government who wants us to e prescribe doesn't let us do the most important scrips to track - Scheduled....

I take all Schedule III-V and when I do them I use PRINT, chooose my fax printer and send to pharmacy. Then I e prescribe all my non scheduled. I still print Schedule II and hand to pt - my state pharmacy board says I have to keep a copy of signed Schedule II - I print, sign, copy and scan in the copy (stupid), then shred.

Some states are different -- if you can fax then I would. I have always thought that being able to fax or worse have my staff call in is stupid if you can't eprescribe.
