This morning our front desk person inadvertently found she can book an appointment for a date that's already past. I checked V5 and it allows it too. Anybody know why this would be necessary, and/or if there's a way to shut off this ability? Seems dangerous.

I find it useful so that if I see someone that was not on the schedule and generate a chart note I can then add them to the appt. list so it accurately reflecst the patients I have seen.'

I agree with Steven, the staff gets busy and doesn't put in overbooks or remove no-shows, so its useful to be able to go back.

That makes sense. As long as we don't start scheduling patients for 2009 I think we'll be fine. smile

How about at least a warning message that the appointment is being booked on a past date?
