We are using AC4 for EHR and a billing program called EHS. My staff are getting ready to kill me because they have to type in pt registration info including contacts and email into both billing software program and AC registation info.

I contacted X-link over last summer and they seem to want many thousands of dollars to build an HL7 bridge between the two programs.

Are there any reasonable alternatives or programmers I can hire for this function? WHY is this sooo expensive??

Any and all help/suggestions appreciated. If it is the general consensus that I hire X-link then I will do so but looking for more cost effective alternatives.

Best regards,

Hi docclayton,

See our earlier threads on this question. My answer is no, there are no good alternatives out there if you want an integrated system and don't want to use x-link. X-link was cheap compared to some of the ridiculous quotes I got. Totalmd is a relatively inexpensive option but no one on here seems to have any experience with them. Practicemate is free but they don't have an HL-7 connection yet. They say they will perhaps within the next year. You are in the same position I'm in. Quite frustrating. I am going to wait and see if AC comes up with an integrated option soon, or, if not, hopefully Practicemate will develop theirs. Let me know if you come up with any great ideas.

I don't know if the question is about XLink? What is the EHS database. SQL server 2005 has ability produce a query result as XML.
