By this time, I think most of AC users are trying to adopt e-prescription. Can anyone tell me how easy it is to interface AC with Surescripts? Can I upload all the patient demographic and active medication data to Surescripts? Can Surescripts update my record in AC after a med is refilled? Is it worth spending the few hundred dollars a year to use Surescripts while Allscripts is providing a free service?

I believe the answer is no. As I understand Sure Scripts and AC at this time, there is no real interface. You can go to surescripts but you have to enter everything by hand and the Surescripts is very hard to intuit. I tried it for a few hours and gave up. I may have been missing something but for me it was too cumbersome. As I understand it, soon, maybe Ver 5.0 will have the new interface. As I understand it, it will be EXACTLY our current Rx writer, with one more box to click, "e-Rx" and if you click it you will have to select the pharmacy or enter the number for the pharmacy connection. That will be awesome!!
