Ouch! So it now costs $699 (after rebate) for a program that retails for $199. Based on my experience with ver 9, I really find it hard to believe there is $500 of value in the Dragon Small Medical practice product vs. the Preferred.

I've had both. If you're using Dragon for medical and you do the things recommended to optimize it, it's an amazing improvement and well worth it!

anyone figure out a work around. I am probably gonna buy medical 10 even though i just bought preferred 10. waste of money- but they got me good. ouch. few choices and no competition is the problem.

I purchase though Tina Bolick at Speech 4 Me. She actually attended the AC conference. Brian posted an optimization article way back when but basically it's: buy the fasted computer with the most RAM you can, buy the best mike - ask Tina, and then do the tutorials. Mine works great now.
